What you'll build in this course
Three real things of your own. The first one in about 40 minutes.
By the end of this lesson
You'll know what you'll build in this course and what you need to start.
Claude Code is a helper that does the work on your computer. You describe in plain words what you need, and it creates the files, runs them and checks the result. This course teaches you to work like that — no programming and no commands to memorize.
What you'll have
What you'll build yourself
- 1In about 40 minutes: your first web page. Claude makes it from one sentence of yours, and you open it in the browser.
- 2Around the middle of the course: your own small tool for life — an expense tracker, a medicine reminder, a family to-do list, whatever you choose.
- 3Near the end: you put it online with a link, so your family can use it on their phones, and you give tasks to your computer from your phone.
“Make a simple web page in this folder that shows today's date in big letters, and open it in my browser.”
This is what a phrase card looks like. You will send almost the same one in the 'Your first session' lesson.
How your path goes
In this order
- 1First the quick result: get access, install Claude Code, run your first session and see your page.
- 2Then why it works: how AI thinks and why it sometimes makes things up — in short lessons.
- 3Then the main skill: asking so the work gets done in one go, and checking it yourself.
- 4Then your own tool, putting it online and working from your phone.
What you need
- 1A computer with macOS, Windows or Linux — Claude Code works there.
- 2A paid Claude plan; the next lesson explains the options and prices.
- 3About 20 minutes at a time. Short regular sessions work well.
›How to read the lessons
Your plan is personal: some lessons are shown in full, some as a 1-minute recap (open the full lesson if something is new), some are moved to 'later'. 'Mark as done' saves progress and opens the next lesson. Quizzes can be retried. Practice terminals are safe imitations. You can rebuild the plan any time from your dashboard.
A lesson in your plan opens with a short summary card on top. What does that mean?
