The Terminal Is Just a Text Box
Kill the one fear that stops everyone here.
By the end of this lesson
You'll stop seeing the terminal as 'hacker stuff' and see it as a chat window.
“The terminal is black-screen hacker stuff. One wrong word and I'll break my computer.”
The terminal is just a text box that talks to your computer. You type words, your computer does something. That's the whole thing. And here's the magic part: with Claude Code, the 'words' are plain human sentences. You're not learning commands — you're talking to Claude.
You won't memorize a single cryptic command. You'll open the terminal, start Claude, and from then on you just talk. If something looks scary, you can close the window and nothing bad happens.
Reframe locked
Terminal = a chat box for your computer, where Claude lives. That's all it ever needs to be for you. Next: we put Claude in it.
