Use your smartphone camera to capture an object and see its 3D representation in your current Blender session within 60 seconds! (via Tripo3D’s AI based 3D generation) camera-to-blender connects your smartphone camera with Blender using AI based 3D generation. A small Python server is running on your computer. Open the web UI on your smartphone, look at any physical object and snap one picture. Optionally remove the background via Gemini API and forward the resulting image to Tripo3D for 3D mesh generation. In ~30–60 seconds you will receive the final result via WebSocket and automatically imported into your current Blender session. Alternatively you can use your laptop webcam. Small Blender add-on for receiving models.

Why a vibe-coder should care

Rather than taking many pictures for photogrammetry, manually modeling or paying a lot of money for 3D scanners, you now have access to a 3D mesh within less than a minute after capturing just one picture with your smartphone camera. Ideal for rapidly prototyping 3D objects, creating assets for games/animations or simply checking how a real world object looks in a 3D environment.

How to install

Copy this and send it to your agent — Claude Code, Codex, any of them:

Deploy camera-to-blender from https://github.com/ahujasid/camera-to-blender — follow the README, set up the Python server and Blender add-on, ask me for a Tripo3D API key, then explain how to open the web app on my phone

A regular laptop with Blender and Python. The 3D models are generated on Tripo3D's servers — you'll need an API key (paid service). Gemini for background removal is also an optional paid key.
