PenEcho — AI Canvas for drawings and handwritten notes
A free drawing tool that lets you write or draw math equations and get AI responses right next to your work (works with Claude, Codex CLI, OpenAI API)
PenEcho is a free online drawing canvas where you can draw, write equations, or sketch diagrams and get AI responses right next to your drawing, which you can move around, accept, or reject. Works with Claude CLI, Codex CLI, OpenAI/Anthropic API. The canvas is a sparse 20,000x20,000 grid created by a tiny open source community. The project got lots of stars because it allows people to natively incorporate spacial, visual thought into their AI processes, which isn’t possible in a chat interface.
Why a vibe-coder should care
When you want to ask questions visually (like drawings, sketches, equations), PenEcho allows you to do so with AI. Simply draw your question on the canvas and get the response right next to it! You don’t have to explain your drawing or use multiple apps.
