An AI assistant that taps buttons in apps on your own phone
Mika is a free, open-source Android app: describe a task in one sentence, and it carries it out in other apps or the browser on a hidden second screen, without taking over your phone.
It's an Android app that reads the screen like a person and taps, types, and scrolls for you — in any installed app or in its built-in browser.
When it helps
Useful if you want your coding AI agent (like Claude Code) to get real "hands" on an Android device — over MCP (a link between AI tools), it can see an app's screen and walk through a task itself. Skip it if you don't have an Android phone or the task is simpler via a service's own API.
Pros
- Works inside any app without needing its API
- Gives your coding agent real "hands" on a device via MCP
- Free and open-source — you only pay for tokens
- Can run tasks on a schedule or when a condition is met
Cons
- No built-in models — needs your own paid AI key and tokens
- Most documentation is written in Chinese
- Sandbox scripts need a phone with an arm64 chip
How to set it up — step by step
- 1Check your phone: Android 11+ for chat/browser, 12+ (14+ recommended) for app control, arm64 for sandbox scripts.
- 2Send your agent the text from the block below — it will help install Mika and set up an AI key.
- 3Pick an AI key provider, or enter your own OpenAI/Anthropic/Gemini-compatible URL, and save the key in Mika's settings.
- 4Test the result: ask Mika to carry out one simple command on your phone.
- 5Connect your phone to your computer and link Mika to your coding tool over MCP.
- 6Copy the link and secret key from the terminal into your coding tool's MCP settings.
Text for your agent
Copy this and send it to your agent — Claude Code, Codex, any of them:
Install Mika on my Android phone from https://github.com/wangzan101/Mika — follow the README, help me pick and enter a model API key (ask me which provider and key to use), then connect Mika to yourself over MCP so you can hand it tasks directly from our chat and check the results.
You need an Android phone: version 11+ for chat, browsing and the sandbox, 12+ for controlling other apps (14+ is comfortable), and it must be an arm64 device. No computer is needed — just your own AI model API key, which you pay for yourself.
