ZAI’s first multimodal flagship GLM-5.3-Flash

GLM-5.3-Flash, the first native multimodal model in the GLM-5 series, was launched by ZAI (zai-org). It has 320B parameters in total, 18B active parameters during inference through a hybrid sparse attention mechanism, a 300K token context length, and performs on par with Claude Opus 4.8 on coding and agency tasks.

ZAI (zai-org) announced the launch of GLM-5.3-Flash, which is the first native multimodal model in the GLM-5 series. It can understand both text and images simultaneously. It has 320B parameters in total, but only 18B are activated during inference using a hybrid sparse attention mechanism, providing excellent performance at a lower cost compared to GLM-5.2. It supports a 300,000 token context length, can write code with confidence, and excels in agency tasks. In coding and agency tasks, it matches the performance of Claude Opus 4.8 at a tenth of the cost of its previous version. You can use this model now via Z.ai API, HuggingChat, and service providers such as Novita.

Why a vibe-coder should care

To have a powerful multimodal model for your API-based application or experience Claude Opus 4.8 for free without paying a subscription fee, try GLM-5.3-Flash now via HuggingChat! If you are a developer, you can get professional access via the Z.ai API at a very low cost compared to other models.

How to install

Copy this and send it to your agent — Claude Code, Codex, any of them:

Open GLM-5.3-Flash from ZAI: https://huggingface.co/zai-org/GLM-5.3-Flash — explain what this model does, how it compares to previous GLM versions, and show me how to try it right now via HuggingChat or the Z.ai API.

This is a server-grade model — you can't run it at home. To try it in the browser, nothing to download: works via HuggingChat and the Z.ai API.
