Bill Gates says AI is already at dangerous levels

Bill Gates points out several “red lines” that AI has already reached: AI can create bioweapons, anyone can conduct cyber attacks with the aid of AI, and half of all jobs can be automated. He believes that there is a 50x higher chance of AI being used to create bioterrorism than there is of a natural pandemic occurring.

However, he says that this conversation is not taking place publicly, it’s only being discussed amongst industry professionals, which is a major issue. He suggests implementing a tax on tokens and robots to pay for our social safety net and keeping some jobs exclusive to humans (but according to him, “the turbulent period has already started”).
