OpenAI announces GPT-6 Astra, and declares AGI era!

OpenAI published their new model GPT-6 Astra and their CEO claims we have reached the age of AGI. The model achieved a score of 99.9% on the ARC-AGI-3 benchmark while taking 51.7% less steps than humans. Pro, Plus, and Enterprise customers can expect access within one week.

Astra is a “black box” model, meaning its internal decision making process is opaque and inaccessible to users. This tradeoff is necessary for the model’s capabilities according to OpenAI. This is a major trend where the most powerful models are becoming harder to understand by those tasked with ensuring they are safe.
