In 2025, Humanoid Robot Production Increased by 10 Times, but Remained Confined to the Laboratory
The number of humanoid robots manufactured skyrocketed from the previous year by over ten times, growing to 20,000 units in 2025. However, only around 10% of these robots are used in actual applications, and experts predict that there will be no significant commercialization until 2032.
There were over 20,000 humanoid robots manufactured in 2025, which was ten times the amount in the previous year. But only about 10% of them were applied in real cases. And there won’t be any large-scale commercial use before 2032. More than 90% of the world’s humanoid robots are made in China, and Unitree and Agibot account for over half of the market share.
Production capacity grows faster than use cases. It will take a certain period of time for language models to go from amazing demos to practical uses, just like humanoid robots. Meanwhile, humanoid robots are learning by gathering data.
