Free Demo of the Odyssey-3 World Model

Odyssey released a free public demo of its Odyssey-3 world model, but the company itself admitted its record benchmark score did not follow the rules.

Odyssey, a California AI company founded in 2023 by Oliver Cameron and Jeff Hawke, has released a free public demo of its world model, Odyssey-3. Their world model generates an interactive environment in real time from a text description. They showed the model controlling a robotic arm and a drone in a simulated environment. They also demonstrated that the model can retry grabbing an object after a failed first attempt, something it never saw during training. On the Physics-IQ benchmark, which measures how closely AI-generated video follows the laws of physics, their Odyssey-3 Pro model scored 66.1. However, by their own account, an 'official' score requires running the test four times and reporting the standard deviation, which they did not do here. Averaged across four runs, the score comes out to 63.37.

This kind of transparency about results is rare, since people usually just publish the final score with no caveats at all. A world model like this is not very useful yet for most AI coding tasks, but it looks like a speculative bet on the future of robotics.
