GitHub radar

A free library of pictures and data for every bird species

An open set of 11,064 AI-made stickers and structured data (range, conservation status) for 11,011 bird species — free to download and drop into your own project if you credit the source.

Ready-made bird images plus fact files for each species, all stored in one GitHub repository (a place where code and files are hosted).

When it helps

Useful if you need legally usable bird illustrations for an app, bot, or nature site; not the right fit if you need scientific precision — the repository itself notes that some stickers didn't turn out well.

Pros

  • 11,064 ready-made images — no need to draw or commission your own
  • Free for commercial use too, as long as you credit the source (CC BY 4.0)
  • Each image comes with data: range, conservation status, names in many languages
  • Every sticker's quality was checked by a separate scoring pass, not just eyeballed

Cons

  • These are AI illustrations, not scientific reference plates — small errors are possible
  • 194 of 11,064 stickers are flagged by the project itself as not good enough
  • 38 newly split species don't have a sticker yet at all

How to set it up — step by step

  1. 1Open your AI agent (Claude Code or Codex) inside your project folder.
  2. 2Send the agent the text from the block below — it will fetch the dataset and build a demo page or bot.
  3. 3Tell the agent which bird species you want to feature in the demo.
  4. 4Check that the result shows the sticker image and its data — range and conservation status.
  5. 5When you publish the result, credit huashu-bird-sticker with a link to the repository.

Text for your agent

Copy this and send it to your agent — Claude Code, Codex, any of them:

Download the dataset from here: https://github.com/alchaincyf/huashu-bird-sticker — find the sticker and data card for a species I'm interested in (I'll tell you which), and build a small demo page or bot that shows a bird's sticker and basic facts (range, conservation status) by name. No keys or accounts needed for this.
