OpenBot: Open-Source Artificial Intelligence Collaboration Platform
CopilotKit Announces OpenBot: A Self-Contained Isolated Computer For Each AI Agent With Tool Call Previews!
OpenBot is a free and open source agent platform developed by CopilotKit. It provides each AI agent their own self contained computer with their own browser, files, and access to only the tools you provide. Supports any agent built using LangGraph, Mastra, CrewAI, or a custom endpoint via the open AG-UI protocol. All tool calls are routed through a gateway which makes decisions, logs, and then executes or denies (and explains why). Currently in alpha development.
Why a vibe-coder should care
OpenBot provides isolated environments for your AI agents along with a history of all actions taken. If you’re looking for these features but don’t have the time to implement them yourself, check out OpenBot! It can be installed locally using Docker. To run OpenBot, you’ll need a CopilotKit Intelligence subscription and an API key for a model. This is an alpha release.
How to install
Copy this and send it to your agent — Claude Code, Codex, any of them:
Deploy OpenBot from https://github.com/CopilotKit/openbot — follow the README (you'll need a CopilotKit account and a model API key, ask me for them), start it and open http://localhost:3010.
Runs on a regular laptop; no GPU needed — you'll need Docker and an AI model API key.
