On first launch it bootstraps a bundled Node.js runtime and downloads the Harness core automatically; every subsequent launch syncs to the latest upstream release. All sessions, profiles and settings stay on your machine at 127.0.0.1:3080. It went viral because it removes the single biggest barrier to DeepSeek Harness: a complex developer setup.
