Taste Skill: Guidelines for writing code for AI agents

A transferable set of design guidelines for an AI coding agent so that it doesn’t create boring UI layouts, fonts, and animations.

Taste Skill is a transferable design guideline for AI coding agents to avoid creating boring user interfaces. It’s an ‘Anti-Slop Frontend Framework’, which is essentially a list of rules that an agent can read and follow to make sure they don’t fall into common traps. The framework has 3 knobs to dial in how much variation there should be in the layout (centered & clean or asymmetric & modern), animation (hover effects only or scroll/magnetic), and visual weight (sparse or dense dashboards). Included in the repo are different versions of the skill such as the default v2, a notion/linear inspired minimalistic version, an industrial brutalist version, an expressive high motion version, a redesign skill to improve an existing codebase, and some image generation skills to create a visual board first and then send the frames over to your AI coding agent to implement. This works for React, Vue, Svelte, and any other major coding agent.

Why a vibe-coder should care

When building pages without guidance, AI agents tend to create predictable user interfaces using standard grids, muted colors, and bland styling. Using Taste Skill you can get unique pages without manually defining each typographical and spatial parameter. All rules can be installed with one line of code and no additional setup required.

How to install

Copy this and send it to your agent — Claude Code, Codex, any of them:
