Odysseus: Self-Hosted AI Workspace with Agents and Email

Odysseus is an open source, self hosted, AI workspace, bringing chat with any language model, AI agents with tools and MCP integration, deepweb research, a document editor, emails (IMAP/SMTP) with AI triage, notes, tasks, and calendar. The Cookbook shows you what model to use depending on your hardware. Compare compares 2 model outputs side by side. Everything stays on your computer. AGPL-3.0 license.

Why a vibe-coder should care

Rather than using multiple different apps to chat, use AI agents, do deepweb research or manage emails, you can do all this in one, self-hosted, workspace. Models can be used locally with Ollama or over API so you aren't tied down to specific providers. Use the AI email triage to automate inbox sorting so your agent can work on the latest messages.

How to install

Copy this and send it to your agent — Claude Code, Codex, any of them:

Deploy Odysseus from https://github.com/odysseus-dev/odysseus via docker compose per the README, open http://localhost:7000 and tell me the admin password from the logs.

A regular laptop — any MacBook will do, deployed via Docker. Local models via Ollama require 8 GB of RAM or more, 16 GB is comfortable.
