GSD Core is a context engineering and spec-based development framework for AI code agents like Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode, Cursor, Windsurf, Copilot, Antigravity CLI and more. It prevents context rot, the silent degradation in quality from agents as they fill their context windows. GSD Core is a formalized 5 phase process of Discuss, Plan, Execute, Verify and Ship where all heavy lifting and research occurs in isolated subagents with a clean 200k context window. Files like STATE.md and CONTEXT.md provide structured data between sessions to prevent losing context. GSD Core has been out for 3 months and has over 8 600 stars. It can be installed using npm and has /gsd-new-project and /gsd-onboard commands. You can have several plans open at the same time, executing in waves. This project also has a GEMINI.md context file for Antigravity CLI, the official replacement of Google’s Gemini CLI (Google sunset Gemini CLI in June 2026).
