Junction: one chat sidebar for local AI coding agents
A VS Code extension that puts a single chat panel in front of seven different local AI coding agents, so you can switch backends without changing your workflow. Nearly 500 stars on day one.
A VS Code chat sidebar for local AI coding agents. It connects through one unified interface to seven different local runtimes (OpenClaw, Hermes, Souveraine, MiMoCode, Goose, OpenCode, OpenHands), so you can drag files into chat, pick a model and swap backends without leaving your editor. It's aware of your workspace, renders diffs and markdown with syntax highlighting, auto-reconnects, and offers compact and timeline layouts. MIT-licensed, and grown from the earlier openclaw_vscode project.
Why a vibe-coder should care
If you'd rather run AI agents on your own machine than send code to the cloud, this gives you one tidy place to do it — and freedom to try different agents without learning a new UI each time.
