Let an AI coding agent mod the PC games you own

universal-modder gives AI coding agents like Claude Code, Codex and Cursor the skills to turn a game you own into a working mod — from reading its code to a finished result.

It's a skill pack that teaches an AI agent to find a game's engine, read its code, build a mod, make art and sound, and test everything inside the game itself.

When it helps

Useful if you own a PC game and want to change something in it without learning modding tools yourself. Won't work on online games or other players' characters — anti-cheat blocks that.

Pros

  • Works out the game's engine and code on its own
  • Generates art, 3D models and sound via fal.ai
  • Tests the mod inside the actual running game
  • Automatically makes a demo video of the mod

Cons

  • Requires Python 3.10+, ffmpeg and Blender on your machine
  • Asset generation needs a paid fal.ai account
  • Can't mod online games or other players' characters due to anti-cheat

How to set it up — step by step

  1. 1Install the plugin in Claude Code: /plugin marketplace add rehan-remade/universal-modder
  2. 2Then run: /plugin install universal-modder@universal-modder
  3. 3Create a fal.ai account — needed for generating art, 3D models and sound
  4. 4Send the agent the text from the block below
  5. 5Review the mod plan the agent proposes and approve it
  6. 6Launch the game and check that the finished mod works as intended

Text for your agent

Copy this and send it to your agent — Claude Code, Codex, any of them:

Open https://github.com/rehan-remade/universal-modder, install this skill pack for Claude Code, and suggest how to mod [your game] — ask me for a fal key if you need one.

A regular gaming PC with the game already installed, Claude Code (or another supported agent), Git, Python 3.10+ and ffmpeg. Blender is needed to render 3D models into sprites. For art, 3D and audio generation you need a fal.ai account (you can sign in through the browser without buying a key upfront). Windows games run natively or through WSL.
