Craft Anything: AI studies a site, app or game and rebuilds it

Craft Anything watches a chosen website, app or game the way an ordinary user sees it, then has an AI agent build a similar project from scratch. You end up with a working copy without manually reverse-engineering the layout and logic.

The program inspects a website, app or game — what's visible on screen, or its code too in "Deep" mode — and hands that description to an AI agent, which writes a new project from scratch in the language or engine you ask for.

When it helps

Useful if you already have a coding AI agent set up and want a quick working skeleton of a similar site, game or app, without measuring every element by hand. Not needed if you don't plan to code through an agent at all — the tool itself doesn't write code.

Pros

  • Runs on an ordinary laptop — no powerful graphics card needed
  • By default only looks at what's visible, never reads the source — less risk of plagiarism
  • Checks the copy against the original itself and keeps refining it
  • Available via command line and an MCP server, no separate app required

Cons

  • Needs Claude Code already set up with its own subscription — it has no model of its own
  • Very new project: cloning mobile and desktop apps hasn't been tested yet
  • Result quality matches using Claude Code directly, no better

How to set it up — step by step

  1. 1Open your coding AI agent (Claude Code) in the folder where you want to work
  2. 2Send the agent the text from the block below
  3. 3When the agent asks, give it the link to the site you want to recreate
  4. 4Check how Craft Anything rebuilt the site and ask for fixes if something doesn't match

Text for your agent

Copy this and send it to your agent — Claude Code, Codex, any of them:

Download and install Craft Anything from https://github.com/storytold/craft-anything (the right release build for my OS), open it in Clean room mode and try recreating a simple site from a link I'll give you — show me what you get. Ask me if you need anything from me.

Runs on a regular laptop — no GPU needed, the Rust app itself is light. But you need Claude Code already set up with your own subscription: Craft Anything runs it as the builder rather than bundling its own model.
