Claude-Mem: Persistent Memory for Claude Code

With Claude-Mem, Claude Code remembers everything you do and carries that memory forward in all your future conversations.

01thedotmack/claude-mem 93kTypeScript

Claude-Mem is a persistent memory compression system for Claude Code. It automatically logs tool use experiences from past sessions, creates semantic summaries, and inserts them into new sessions. This allows Claude to remember information about your project across multiple restarts. You can use cmem.ai (a free trial cloud service), your own OpenRouter, Gemini, or Anthropic API key, or OpenCode, and Anthropic CLI. It comes with a live web UI, skill command for natural language history search, and <private> tag to prevent saving sensitive information. This project now has more than 92,000 stars!

Why a vibe-coder should care

Never have to repeat your project details in Claude Code again. Claude remembers previous actions and doesn’t repeat failures, particularly useful on long-term projects. (Note that you must be logged in with cmem.ai (free trial) or your own API key for a supported provider.)

How to install

Copy this and send it to your agent — Claude Code, Codex, any of them:

Install claude-mem from here: https://github.com/thedotmack/claude-mem — run `npx claude-mem install`, restart Claude Code, and show me that context from past sessions is now appearing. Ask me if you need an API key for the provider.

Runs on a regular laptop — just Node.js 20+ needed.
