Rebuttal Skill for AI Coding Assistants
Structured Skill definition for Claude Code, OpenCode, and Gemini CLI to guide an AI assistant through a two-part process of planning experiments/analyses (based on review comments) and writing a rebuttal based on evidence (after getting author feedback).
The Rebuttal-Skill by TobiasLee is a Skill Definition (not an Application) which can be used with Claude Code, OpenCode, and Gemini CLI. It provides a two part process for handling academic rebuttals: Part 1 extracts review comments to atomic issues, determines reviewer intent, assigns severity levels (FATAL–MINOR), and generates a prioritized list of P0–P3 experiments/analysis plans; Part 2 generates structured rebuttals based on evidence after receiving author feedback in a Direct Answer + Evidence + Revision format. Part 0 provides a preliminary evaluation if it’s even worth writing a rebuttal and suggests a path for resubmitting if it’s not likely to be worth it.
Why a vibe-coder should care
This allows academic researchers who are currently using Claude Code or other AI Assistants to receive structured support when crafting their rebuttals based on evidence which is one of the most challenging and time consuming parts of the academic publication process.
