Anthropic Feeds SpaceX, But Leans on Just Three Giants Itself
Anthropic made up a third of SpaceX's sales last quarter, while Amazon, Google, and Microsoft together account for nearly half of Anthropic's revenue — investors are flagging concentration risk.
Anthropic, the AI lab behind the Claude models, has become SpaceX's biggest customer. It accounted for a third of SpaceX's sales last quarter. The numbers came out of Anthropic's own IPO prospectus, the document companies file before selling shares to the public. The same filing showed the flip side: almost half of Anthropic's revenue comes from just three companies, Amazon, Google, and Microsoft. Bridgewater, a major investment firm, called this concentration a risk on its own. In a note to clients, it warned that the economy is left counting on plain luck for everything to keep working.
This is not just a number off a stock filing. It describes the infrastructure itself. Half of Anthropic's money comes from three cloud giants, and those same giants sell their own models as direct rivals to Claude. None of this changes how Claude works today. But this concentration is worth watching. If one of these few big nodes stumbles, it will not just hit Anthropic. It will hit everything already built on top of Claude.
