Claude Code gets a built-in browser for the live web.

Claude Code, Anthropic’s AI code assistant, can browse the internet, click, and type directly within your IDE. You can control what sites Claude Code has access to, and even turn off its browsing functionality altogether.

Claude Code, Anthropic’s AI code assistant, can browse the internet, click, and type directly within your IDE. You can control what sites Claude Code has access to, and even turn off its browsing functionality altogether. Claude Code marks all its in-browser actions as filtered. You won’t be able to buy things or sign up for accounts unless you explicitly allow Claude Code to do so, and organizations can block Claude Code from accessing certain sites or even prevent it from using the web at all.

Browsing the internet is a significant step forward for coding agents. Previously, Claude Code could only interact with local files. Now, it can also access the world wide web. The traditional distinction between an IDE and a web browser is disappearing, and future dev tools will make heavy use of this new hybrid model.
