Anthropic Launches Free Claude for Teachers, No Student Data Training
Anthropic made Claude for Teachers free for verified K-12 teachers in the US, and promised not to use student data to train their models.
Anthropic recently announced a free version of Claude for Teachers, including the Claude, Claude Code and Cowork agents, tailored lesson plans across all 50 states and integration with Canva Education and MagicSchool. The company has also guaranteed that it won’t use student data to train its models (in collaboration with the American Federation of Teachers).
The education sector is the most delicate application area for AI. Parents and teachers are more concerned about the privacy of their students than anyone else. Starting with a free product and offering a clear privacy policy is an ideal recipe for gaining first-mover advantage by setting the market standard.
