Cohere, an AI company, has launched North 2, a platform for managing AI agents inside a business. It works with any model. That includes Cohere's own models, such as Command A+, or a model the client connects on their own. The platform walks agents through multi-step workflows and keeps context between sessions. It also connects to tools like Slack (a team chat app), SharePoint (Microsoft's tool for file storage and collaboration), and Jira (a project-tracking tool). For sensitive actions, the agent needs approval from a human first. North is already running in production at LG CNS, a South Korean IT company, and at Bell Cyber, a cybersecurity firm. Cohere is targeting government agencies and regulated industries that want to keep AI under their own control.

What stands out here is not Cohere's own models. It is the fact that the platform connects to any strong model, including Opus and Fable, the models behind Claude Code, Anthropic's tool for writing code with AI. The real value of North 2 is the control layer around the agents: approval before key actions, token quotas, access limits. For government bodies and regulated companies, that layer usually matters more than which model runs underneath. Unchecked automation simply will not get in the door there.
