June 2026: 21 organizations publish 1,500 critical bugs, a 3.5x increase over any prior month. This was kicked off by the introduction of autonomous red teams using AI. Anthropic’s “Glasswing” program discovers more than 10,000 high severity code bugs.
AI bug finding is orders of magnitude faster than red teams. Now patches must be released within days or weeks, not months. The offense/defense arms race has dramatically sped up.
