The new music generation tool from ElevenLabs Music v2.5 is available via their app & API. In a blind test of 47,885 pairs, they found that users prefer the new one. Especially for R&B, hip hop, and rock.
ElevenLabs introduces Music v2.5, the latest iteration of their text-to-music synthesizer accessible via the ElevenMusic App and API. Their old version (v2) is still around.
In a blind test of 47,885 pairs, they’ve discovered that people prefer Music v2.5 over the previous version especially in the R&B, Soul, hip-hop, rock, and orchestral genres. They describe this as “more natural and fuller”.

They mention that their model was trained on a legal dataset. This recent partnership with Universal Music Group is only for future products, and not for Music v2.5.
The API is what makes Music v2.5 great for vibe coders because you can automate the process of adding background music to your work via the pipeline. If you want to use it in a commercial project you need a Pro subscription. If you use the free plan, then you have to include attribution.
