AI-Based Robotics Company General Intuition Reaches $6B Valuation
General Intuition has secured a new financing round at a $6 billion valuation, up from a $2.3B valuation two months ago. This represents a 2.6x increase in valuation since the summer. General Intuition is building an AI trained on spatial reasoning with hundreds of millions of hours of gameplay, and is targeting the robotics space.
General Intuition, which uses hundreds of millions of hours of gameplay to train an AI to understand spatial reasoning, has secured a new financing round at a $6 billion valuation. Two months ago, the company was valued at $2.3B, representing a 2.6x increase in valuation since the summer. Investors include Valor Equity, Point72, and Khosla Ventures.
The company found that games were perfect for training AI: by learning from billions of key presses, they could train a model to anticipate movements in space, which is crucial for robotics. Large action models are the next big thing after language models, and funding is pouring into companies making the first moves towards physical AI applications.
