Google Assistant is gone from Android starting on September 4th.

Google has announced that it will be discontinuing its Google Assistant for Android devices including smartphones, tablets, smartwatches, and earbuds from September 4th. The company has sent out emails informing users that after Google Assistant goes away, they can never go back in time.

The feature will be available on devices meeting the required system requirements and residing within a supported Gemini region. If you don’t fit these criteria, then good luck with your voice assistant.

Say goodbye to rule-based voice assistants and hello to large language models. Google is one of the first big tech firms to completely retire their old school voice assistant instead of just putting it on hold.
