CrowdStrike Buys Two AI Agent Security Startups
CrowdStrike is buying Fiddler AI and Dreadnode for close to $500 million combined, folding AI agent monitoring into its Falcon platform.
Cybersecurity company CrowdStrike has acquired two AI security startups, Fiddler AI and Dreadnode, for close to $500 million combined. CrowdStrike is paying roughly $400 million for Fiddler AI, a company that tracks how AI agents behave inside organizations. It is paying roughly $95 million for Dreadnode, a company that scans and tests AI models and agents for security issues before they get deployed. Fiddler AI will be folded into a new CrowdStrike module called Falcon Observe. Dreadnode will add to CrowdStrike's existing Falcon Guardian product. Research firm Gartner expects the AI security market to grow to nearly $5 billion by 2027.
Organizations running AI agents used to rely on log files and manual checks to track what those agents were doing. This deal shows something has changed. Pre-deployment monitoring and vulnerability testing for AI agents have gone mainstream. Big vendors are now offering it, not just niche startups. That is exactly the kind of groundwork needed before companies can safely hand real work over to AI agents.
