Google unveils live voice Gemini modes for Gmail, Docs, and Keep.
Google introduced new Gemini live voice modes for Gmail, Docs, and Keep. Use voice commands to handle email, write documents, and keep notes. Available for Gmail AI Plus, Pro, and Ultra users on iOS and Android.
Google introduced new live voice modes for its productivity apps: Gmail Live, Docs Live, and Keep Live. Just like the conversational mode in the Gemini chatbot, they allow handling email, writing documents, and taking notes with voice commands.
What Each Mode Can Do
With Gmail Live, you can ask questions about your mail aloud, such as “What do I have to answer to Ivan?”, and receive an audio answer alongside a live transcription. Docs Live supports voice commands and generates drafts based on information from Gmail, Google Drive, corporate chats, and the Internet. Keep Live lets you record voice notes and, if needed, format them as structured data (e.g., a shopping list, recipe, or to-do list).
Who Can Access It
These new modes are available for Gmail AI Plus, Pro, and Ultra users. Docs Live and Keep Live are intended for Pro and Ultra users. Enterprise Workspace Business customers should soon get access to them too. Initially, the feature is available only in English and only for iOS and Android.
Google announced these new features at the Google I/O conference in May 2026. In the past year alone, it also added voice dictation on Mac (April), Gemini 3.5 Transcribe with 97.4% accuracy (August), and the native Rambler dictation app for Pixel 11. Voice control is becoming the norm in Google’s office apps.
