Google Googlebook: Android Laptop Starting at $899, Built for Gemini
Google has released the Googlebook, a line of Android laptops with native Gemini starting at $899. Magic Cursor brings AI up directly over selected content on screen, without switching windows.
Google has released the Googlebook, a line of Android laptops with native Gemini starting at $899. Sales begin October 4 in the United States. The main feature is Magic Cursor, which summons Gemini directly above selected content on screen without switching windows. Each device includes 12 months of Google AI Pro with Gemini Advanced and 5 terabytes of storage.
Magic Cursor is an interesting idea: it lets you access the model directly from your working context, without opening a separate chat window. My stack is built around Claude Code and Fable 5.1, so I would not buy this laptop. If my workflow were on Google Workspace, I would buy it. The first year with AI Pro included seems reasonable.
