ChatGPT With GPT-6 Swaps Text for Buttons and Charts

OpenAI is rolling out GPT-6 with a feature called Intelligent UI: ChatGPT answers now appear as a screen with charts and buttons instead of plain text.

OpenAI, the makers of ChatGPT, are rolling out a new version of GPT-6 that adds an "Intelligent UI" feature. Instead of showing answers as text, responses will appear as interactive interfaces: charts, buttons, forms, and so on. So if you ask about comparing two products, you will get a table. If you ask how something works, you will get an interactive diagram, and so on. The model also starts answering earlier, while its internal reasoning process is still running. According to OpenAI, this cuts response time by 44%. Free users will get access to GPT-6 Luna, a weaker version, while paid subscribers will get GPT-6 Sol, a more powerful one.

There is nothing groundbreaking here, really. Google showed something very similar back in May, when it added a feature called "Neural Expressive" to its Gemini chatbot. This is basically just a nice interface layer on top of your chat window. It improves the experience for regular ChatGPT users, but it has no effect on people who work through the model's API or build bots on top of it. Those users will not see this interface at all. The shorter response time comes from the interface responding faster, not from the model itself getting smarter.
