xAI has released Grok 4.6, an updated model now capable of handling long autonomous tasks — research, analysis, and visual projects for hours without stopping. On the AI Intelligence Index, an independent AI model ranking, it scored 61 points — the same as OpenAI's GPT-5.6 Sol. API pricing is $2 per million input tokens and $6 per million output tokens.
This is a sign of a shift: AI models are now judged not by how smartly they answer, but by how much they get done without human involvement. Grok 4.6 is already integrated into Cursor, Vercel, and Cloudflare — tools that are increasingly replacing developers.
