3 Hacktron AI Researchers hacked into OpenAI employee accounts & GitHub code repo using Claude Opus 5. Previously Opus 4.8 kept failing at this task.
The Hacktron AI Team found a vulnerability in OpenAI with the latest model release of Claude Opus 5. They abused a bug on the OpenAI forum by improperly uploading images to gain access to employee accounts and an internal Github code repository. The Hacktron team received a $6500 bounty from OpenAI for their work. The exploit only costs $200/month to subscribe to.
Opus 4.8 was previously unable to complete this challenge, but Opus 5 wrote a valid exploit shortly after being released. This demonstrates one way that agents can vary greatly in performance on hard problems.
