Instagram Launches AI Assistant for Video Creators

Instagram has built an AI chat into Edits, its answer to CapCut, to dig through a creator's video stats. It does not just look at followers and views. It looks at how long people watch before dropping off, and what makes them hit like or leave a comment. Brett Westervelt, who runs Edits, put it this way: the assistant "does the digging for you, and the creative decisions stay with you." Meta showed the tool to a small group of creators back in June, then launched it officially on September 30. The basic version is free, and advanced features require a Meta One subscription.
Most AI editors try to touch the edit itself. This one does not. It just tells you what worked with viewers and what to change in your next video. For that narrower job, reading metrics and giving content advice, agents are actually pretty good right now. That is different from handing them the whole edit. I would not expect finished videos out of this one. But as a numbers advisor for your own channel, it looks workable, as long as you do not mind handing your data to Meta.
