LinkedIn Tests a 'Looks Like AI Slop' Report Button
LinkedIn is testing a 'looks like AI slop' button that flags posts and reduces their reach. The platform is also removing its own 'Rewrite with AI' buttons — over 40% of long posts are already AI-generated.
LinkedIn is testing a 'looks like AI slop' button: when a user files a report, the post loses algorithmic reach and the author receives a notification that the content feels inauthentic. At the same time, the platform is removing its own 'Rewrite with AI' and 'Improve' buttons — only spell-check, which doesn't alter the author's voice, will remain.
There's no shortage of reasons for the change: over 40% of long-form posts on LinkedIn are already AI-generated, and the platform blocks billions of automated posting attempts every month. Demand for authentic content is growing — and major platforms are starting to build content-quality tools directly into the feed.
