Meta pays Microsoft hundreds of millions to develop AI, which will then be used against it
Meta pays Microsoft hundreds of millions of dollars annually for its AI services: it runs trillions of tokens a week via Azure Foundry to test its AI models.
In this article we’re going to look at how Meta pays Microsoft hundreds of millions of dollars a year for their AI services. Sounds familiar? That’s because it is! Just like Meta switched from using Bing Search to their own service, they’re now building a custom API service — in other words, a competitor to Foundry! And yes, even though these are the giants of the industry, they still have to pay those who compete with them.
