Prentis: Hoffman and Pincus Bring AI Agents to the Office
Startup Prentis, valued at $1B, is raising $100M: founded by the creators of LinkedIn and Zynga, the company signed $50M in contracts within four months — building agents that automate corporate back-office work.
Prentis, founded in April 2026, is raising $100M at a $1B valuation. Co-founders include LinkedIn creator Reid Hoffman, Zynga founder Mark Pincus, and CEO Rittankar Das. The team of more than 25 draws from OpenAI, Google DeepMind, Meta, Tencent, and Alibaba.
What Prentis Agents Do
Prentis builds AI agents that can operate a computer — opening applications, navigating enterprise systems, processing insurance claims, calculating customs duties, and handling documents. The agent sees the screen and acts like a human at a keyboard — a capability known as "computer use."
Hive-32B vs. OpenAI and Anthropic
The company's proprietary Hive-32B model, Prentis claims, outperforms OpenAI's GPT-5.4 and Anthropic's Claude Opus 4.6 on computer-use benchmarks, while the cost per completed task runs roughly 10× lower than leading API alternatives.
Real Contracts
Within four months of launch, Prentis signed contracts totaling up to $50M with customers in healthcare, manufacturing, and retail. The company believes automating office workflows will soon overtake coding as AI's primary application.
