Warren Pandicha, a streamer based in Connecticut, has brought a class action suit against Twitch and Amazon. The complaint alleges that the companies have been using streams without permission or licenses to train their AI systems. As recently as August 2026, Twitch introduced an “opt out” feature; even Twitch’s CPO has conceded that “if it were voluntary, nobody would agree.”

We’re seeing a growing trend of creators suing platforms for using their work to train AI without permission. This is the latest chapter in a series of lawsuits brought by authors and musicians. Now, these platforms are facing legal consequences for repurposing “user generated” content as AI training data.
