After assembly, the XPENG Iron Humanoid walks off the production line
XPENG’s humanoid robot, called Iron, has just self-walked out of the assembly line, without any instructions. It has 76 degrees of freedom, and three Turing chips with a total calculation ability of 2,250 trillion calculations per second. The production of Iron began on September 7, 2026, and the mass production is scheduled for 2027.

Initially, Iron will be deployed to greet customers and provide guidance in the exhibition hall. This is not a real production line, but a pilot line to test the product’s stability in a normal environment and gather relevant data. I think it’s pretty cool that an automaker has their own factories and starts to venture into the robot industry. XPENG has better starting points than pure robotic companies.
