HermesOffice: Open-Source AI Office Suite
A team of developers from Genspark (Mainfunc, Inc.) has presented HermesOffice, a new AI-driven office productivity tool. This is an open-source universal office suite including a word processor, spreadsheet application, presentation software, and PDF editor. It is available for macOS, Windows, and Linux.
This product is based on the GenOffice project (Apache-2.0), with Hermes Agent AI included on top. Each program has the same AI panel integrated. The AI system works on a block-level basis, analyzing the structure of documents and making exact changes within blocks. The rest of the file remains untouched, which means that all bytes are the same.
Why a vibe-coder should care
For example, if you use AI agents for writing/editing actual business documents (such as .docx files for reports, .xlsx spreadsheets for tables, or .pptx files for presentations), then HermesOffice allows to integrate the AI into regular office applications. The interaction with AI APIs happens through the Genspark server and your Genspark account, there’s no need to have a separate AI model API key.
