Strip ads from your Xiaomi TV with an AI agent
A ready-made agent skill: it connects to your Xiaomi TV over ADB on its own, wipes MIUI ads, and swaps the ad-filled launcher for an open one.
An instruction file (SKILL.md) plus bash scripts for an AI agent: it removes MIUI ad packages and switches the home launcher to open-source Projectivy.
When it helps
Useful if you own a Chinese-market Xiaomi TV running MIUI with ads on the home screen. Won't work on other brands or firmware — tested on only one model.
Pros

- No root and no ADB knowledge needed — the agent sends the commands
- Can also set up a proxy, ad-free YouTube, and a streaming app

Cons
- Tested on only one device (MiTV-ASTP0, Android 9) with Chinese firmware
- May not work on other brands or different MIUI firmware versions
- You must manually turn on developer mode and ADB on the TV
How to set it up — step by step
- 1Turn on developer mode and ADB debugging in the TV's settings.
- 2Clone the repo with `git clone https://github.com/wangrongding/tv-fresh ~/.agents/skills/tv-fresh` into your agent's skills folder.
- 3Send the agent the text from the block below.
- 4Put the TV and your computer on the same network, then confirm ADB access on the remote.
- 5Review the list of packages the agent plans to remove and confirm it.
- 6Check that the home screen now opens Projectivy with no ads.

What gets touched here is not your laptop but the TV itself: the skill sends ADB commands over the network to the Android TV, and the only thing needed on your own machine is an ADB client. The TV needs developer mode and ADB debugging turned on, or the agent simply cannot connect. There is no GPU or memory requirement here, this is not inference, it is installing and removing packages.
