Get instant summaries of articles, PDFs, and videos in your browser
This extension turns a long article, PDF, or video into a short summary right in your browser. Nothing you read gets sent to any server.
It's a free browser extension that turns a long text or video into a list of key points. It runs locally — on your own computer, not the cloud.
When it helps
Use it when you need the gist of a long article, PDF, or video before a meeting. For a careful read of a complex document, read the original or connect your own larger model instead.
Pros
- Works without internet and without an API key — a password for paid AI.
- No account, subscription, or API key needed at all.
- Runs on your GPU or a plain CPU — the default model is under 1GB.
- YouTube and Bilibili videos get a clickable timeline of key moments.
Cons
- The default model is small — not built for complex documents.
- Bigger models need separate setup via Ollama or llama.cpp.

- 3Let it install the extension via the Chrome Web Store or Firefox Add-ons links.
- 4Open a long article or PDF you want to understand quickly.
- 5Run the summary in the extension and pick a response format.

Install the Apogee browser extension following the README here: https://github.com/darshi1337/apogee — it links to the Chrome Web Store and Firefox Add-ons page. Once installed, open a long article or PDF and run a summary, then show me the result.
Lightweight: no graphics card needed, the default model is under a gigabyte and runs even on a plain CPU through WebAssembly.
