Anthropic, the company behind the Claude AI models, has filed paperwork with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The SEC oversees stock market listings. The company wants to go public. An IPO is a first sale of shares on the stock market. Anthropic's shares will trade on Nasdaq under the ticker ANT. A ticker is a short code investors use to find a stock. Anthropic's revenue for the first half of 2026 rose to $16.3 billion, up from $1.2 billion a year earlier. Its operating loss for the same period shrank from $2.1 billion to $693 million. The filing also lists a net loss of $80.7 billion. Anthropic says this comes from a non-cash revaluation of convertible debt. That kind of debt can later convert into company shares, so the loss is not tied to actual spending.

The filing also shows who is paying for Anthropic's products. About 250 companies pay more than $10 million a year. Nearly 2,000 pay more than $1 million. That confirms large companies are already paying serious money for Anthropic's AI. The company's stated valuation is around $2 trillion. The $80.7 billion loss is an accounting figure for investors. It is not a sign of real financial trouble.
