OpenAI has raised the limit of text chat for free ChatGPT users and introduces GPT-5.6 Luna for free users which has 62% less factual errors than GPT-5.5 with the ‘Think’ feature for complicated queries. The free version will still have limitations on files, images, voice mode, and image generation.
ChatGPT has crossed 1 billion weekly active users at the time when OpenAI turns their free product into a real product. The move to unlimited chats shows that they are expecting users who visit the product ‘for a test drive’ would return back.
