Americans are Using AI Twice As Much Daily than They Were Six Months Ago
In the last 6 months, the number of US adults using AI daily jumped from 8% to 19%. (Epoch AI/Ipsos)
The percentage of US adults who use AI at least 6 days/week increased from 8% in March 2026 to 19% in August 2026 (March sample size = 2017 adults; August sample size = 1016 adults). In the same time frame, the percentage of adults who use AI weekly decreased from 17% to 10%.
(Note: In August, we changed our methodology to ask about each specific service instead of asking about AI in general and taking the majority response, which may underestimate growth. Still, I think that it’s safe to say that 1/5th of Americans are launching an AI app every day now, and it’s time to stop building for “casual users”.)
