Daily AI Use in the U.S. Has Doubled in Six Months
The share of Americans using AI nearly every day grew from 8 to 19 percent in six months, according to Epoch AI and Ipsos.
The share of Americans who use AI nearly every day — six or more days per week — rose from 8 to 19 percent over six months, from March to August 2026. In March, Epoch AI and Ipsos surveyed 2,017 people; in August, 1,016 people. Over the same period, the share of those who use AI once a week fell from 17 to 10 percent.
The authors themselves note that the August methodology changed: each service was asked about separately, and the highest frequency was taken, which likely understates the actual growth. I see it differently. One in five adults now opens an AI tool every day, and building a product for people who just want to try it no longer makes sense.
