Digit 5: The Humanoid That Works Alongside People With No Safety Fence
Agility Robotics unveiled Digit 5 with a 22.7 kg payload capacity (+40%) and the first Nvidia Halos partnership. After 65,000 hours logged at client sites, commercial shipments begin in early 2027.
Agility Robotics has unveiled Digit 5 — 1.81 m tall, 129 kg, with a 22.7 kg payload capacity (40% more than Digit 4). For the first time, a humanoid robot is certified to work alongside people without safety fencing: it detects a human, then stops or yields. Digit 5 is the first Nvidia Halos partner. Shipments begin in early 2027 from an Oregon factory capable of producing 10,000 units per year.
Digit 4 has already logged 65,000 hours at GXO, Amazon, and Schaeffler — this isn't a concept, it's a working product on real warehouse floors. As a vibe coder, I see Digit 5 as the next step in agent architecture: an agent in a body that doesn't need its own enclosure. The question is no longer whether physical AI will reach production — it's how fast.
