Indian AI Startup Emergent Hits $1.5B Unicorn Status in 13 Months
Indian startup Emergent reached a $1.5B valuation in just 13 months: $130M Series C, 200,000 paying customers, and $120M in annual revenue.
Emergent, founded in June 2025 by brothers Mukund and Madhav Jha, raised $130M in a Series C round at a $1.5B valuation — 13 months after launch. The round was led by Creaegis, with participation from Khosla Ventures, SoftBank Vision Fund 2, Lightspeed, and Y Combinator.
The platform bills itself as an "engineering team in a box": AI handles not just code writing, but also deployment, testing, and debugging — all designed for entrepreneurs and small businesses with no deep technical background.
The growth is striking: 200,000 paying customers, $120M in annual revenue that grew 70% over the past four months. The company operates primarily out of Bangalore, with customers roughly evenly split across North America, Europe, and Asia.
Going from zero to a billion-dollar valuation in 13 months is one of the fastest trajectories in venture history. It's a signal: AI developer tools are no longer a niche for programmers — they're becoming a mass-market product for non-technical entrepreneurs.
