Nvidia, Palantir, and Booz Allen Restrict Fable Over Log Retention
Three major companies have restricted Anthropic's Fable following a change to its log retention policy. Palantir is demanding ironclad zero-retention guarantees.
Three major companies have restricted use of Anthropic's Fable — Nvidia, Palantir, and Booz Allen Hamilton. The reason: in June, Anthropic updated its policy to retain Fable session logs for 30 days as a safeguard against attacks. Palantir is demanding "ironclad zero-retention guarantees" and is blocking Fable on its platform; Booz Allen has banned the model for work involving proprietary code.
As a vibe coder, I understand this caution — building on someone else's API means trusting it with your most sensitive data. Personally, it doesn't stop me from using Fable on everyday tasks, but for proprietary code or client data I'd want to get clear on the retention policy first. Anthropic already offers a client-side log retention mode, which is exactly the right move.
